Final Prototype
Usability Testing
We tested our first full working prototype with these objectives:
-
We wanted to test how well a user could navigate through the app and carry out the given user tasks.
-
We wanted to know how users feel, what they liked and did not like while using our app.
-
We wanted to see if SaveFace can possibly impact users when it comes to decision-making in terms of skincare.
User testing on our high fidelity Figma prototype over Zoom and was done with five users with varying degrees of experience with skincare and gender. We gave the users a series of tasks and while we observed how they carry out each task.

After carrying out the user tasks, we proceeded to ask some open-ended questions so that we are able to get as much feedback and suggestions as possible from our users. Below is a summary of the feedback our users provided and the suggestions they gave.

With the suggestions from our user testing, we further integrated into our last iteration of our prototype, to create the final high-fidelity interactive prototype.
Glossary
The most critical problem with the previous prototype was the noticeability of the “Glossary”. All of our test participants were not able to complete the last test task of “Checking the meaning of moisturiser/humectant”. The general feedback was that the glossary icon was not noticeable and they had forgotten about it as well. Thus, with the user feedback, we made the necessary improvements.

Another issue brought up was the lack of search function which users might need if there are many terms in the glossary. We also added a search function in the glossary so users can easily search up on the skincare terms they are looking for.

Overall Aesthetics
A few users feedback that the font size of the skin concerns tags is too small and the search page seemed too empty. We did the necessary adjustment to the font size of the problem area, as well as made sure other texts in our app have suitable font sizes. We also added an illustration on our search page.
Review Section under Product
One user suggested that he would like it if we included a user’s experience level in skincare alongside their review on the product as it would give him the option of viewing only reviews of experienced users for more accurate reviews. While it was a good suggestion, we decided not to implement this in our final prototype as we felt that a user’s understanding of their experience level in skincare can be subjective and does not necessarily mean users with higher experience level will give more accurate review.
