High Fidelity Prototype
With the peer evaluation for the low fidelity prototype completed, we began to work on the high fidelity version. We first started focusing on the overall theme and aesthetic of the app by testing out various fonts and colour schemes.
Eventually, we decided on a Abril for our title font—a strong serif font which was both modern and elegant. We use Poppins for our body font as it was the most readable and pleasant to the eye from our mockups.
For the colours, we wanted to avoid pinkish shades despite their association with skincare as the application is meant to be gender-neutral. We experimented with various colour palettes with more fleshed-out frames to see how they would appear.
Eventually, we narrowed it down it to warmer colours, and then a light orange / beige due to its associations with health and vitality, and as it was a calming and refreshing colour.
Finally, we arrived at the following high-fidelity prototype for the usability test:
